DIARY OF A TALENTED TEENAGER: At 15, Bronx native Tiffany Evans already has some impressive showbiz credits, winning the Grand Champion title in the junior division on Star Search and popping up on TV and film (The District, Law and Order: SVU and Diary of a Mad Black Woman). With this promising debut, Ms. Evans is poised to make her mark in music.

JUST RIGHT: Ms. Evans’ vocals combine the right amount of strength and sweetness. For the most part, the material – produced by Mr. Collipark, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Narada Michael Walden and featuring Ciara and Bow Wow – suits her age and abilities. “Impossible,” co-produced and co-written by Ne-Yo, puts naysayers in their place over a pulsating, synthesized beat, and “Can’t Walk Away” rues a young love that she’s slow to shake. “Girl Gone Wild,” produced by the Clutch, is a sassy, club-ready standout telling a peer to act her age: “You need to button up your blouse, put back on your vest, cuz you’re out here looking a mess.” Ouch.

BOTTOM LINE: Tiffany Evans is a refreshing alternative that teens and their parents can enjoy.
